During morning exploration this morning a couple of children created a book shelf within the block area to keep all of the Beatrix Potter stories. Wow! The children thought that it was important to have a special place in our classroom for these special books!

Technology Lab!

Wow! We visit the technology lab two afternoons a week to work on many different things. Today we looked at our classroom blog and worked on our keyboarding skills. The program we use is Type To Learn 4. Lots of fun!

What Are The Names of All The Clouds in The Sky?

This afternoon our 4 Winds lesson focused on the weather. We learned the names of all the different clouds and the weather they each represent.

Shadow and Light Boxes of the Earth!

AS part of our theme around keeping our world beautiful we began working on our own box of what we would like to see in the world. The children began painting their boxes today. As the week goes on we will be adding 3-D images to our ideal world!

Young Readers and Writers Contest!

Finger Knitting!

Today we had a child show us how to finger knit! What fun! In Kindergarten we encourage children to share special talents and interests that they have with others. This all helps to promote a caring learning environment. Please feel free to encourage your child to bring something in to teach us, show us and/or share with us!

Look Who Wrote About How To Keep Our Planet Green!

We have been working hard on learning about lots of things we can do to keep our planet green. Great Work Everyone!

Ways To Keep Our Planet Beautiful!

This morning a couple of the children delivered our classroom compost to our school garden and composting area. We also recycle paper in our classroom and reuse lots of materials as well. These are just a few of the things we do to keep our planet beautiful.

Poetry Reading!

This morning during our Readers Workshop one of the children brought in 2 poems to read to us! We enjoyed listening to the poems very much. Then every child received a copy of the 2 poems to take home tonight in their reading pocket to read to you!

This is so wonderful! The children really loved the idea of sharing their favorite poems with each other as well as doing what we call a "Random Act of Kindness." This is when you do something nice for someone to share an idea or just to do something nice to be nice and thoughtful!

Flying Our Kites At ABS!

This morning we had a lot of fun flying our kites. We learned that the wind is very strong and can be both cold and warm. The faster we ran with our kites, the higher our kites flew! We also learned that our kites could be improved to hold up for a longer period of time by using string instead of yarn and maybe cardboard instead of tissue paper. It was lots of fun and great exercise for our hearts!
