Being Safe, Kind and Responsible Online!
We create an identity because we never use our real photo with our name. |
This morning Mrs. Birdsall visited Kindergarten. She is the Technology Integration Specialist at our school. She talked to us about how we keep ourselves safe on field trips and in our neighborhoods. Then we watched a short video about how we keep safe when we use digital tools.
Here are the 3 safety steps we learned about.
1. Ask parents first
2. Talk to people we know, When we are in school we "Tweet"/Blog with people our teacher knows and we also make new friends alongside our teacher.
3. Stick to places we know are okay.

Mrs. Tatlock and Pumsy Visit Kindergarten!
This afternoon Mrs. Tatlock visited Kindergarten with her friend, Pumsy! She read us an awesome story about feelings. We learned about mud mind, clear mind and sparkle mind too!
We are learning about how important it is to share how we are feeling. In sparkle mind we feel so happy! In clear mind we are comfortable and feel okay. Sometimes in mud mind we feel frustrated or sad.

Creating Caterpillars!
One of our favorite, familiar stories is the Very Hungry Caterpillar By, Eric Carle. This morning we had fun painting our very own caterpillar. We will create a voice thread when we finish! We also "Tweeted"some of our caterpillars to our 6th grade friends in Vermont! They are @vtfirsties on Twitter!

Saying Hello In Different Languages!
This morning Mrs. Tursi visited Kindergarten. She is an amazing ELL teacher in our school. She talked to us about "How To" say hello in different languages. She showed us a great App called;"FORVO " So we used AirServer and our Smartboard to hear hello in different languages. She shared a great book too!
Click here if you are interested in the App!
AirServer is great because we can remotely access the iPad and share what we notice!
