Today was so exciting!  We finally had enough snow to try out our new snowshoes thanks to the Vermont NEA and our school.  We explored walking and running in snowshoes, taking care of them and also we noticed lots of animal tracks!  We are all excited to begin to explore nature with our new "shoes".

This afternoon we were so excited to get our new snowshoes and then try them out!  We explored this afternoon on a huge pile of snow!  We are hoping for more snow so we can snowshoe again!

Today we enjoyed exploring the ground and creating lots of different types of snow people.  We created fire pits, bear traps and made noticings of what was under the snow.
Lots of collaboration and creating this afternoon.  Our snowshoes will be in Kindergarten Friday!  Keep your fingers crossed that we get more snow!

This afternoon Hannaford's visited Kindergarten.  Ms. J showed us ways that Hannaford's is recycling and reducing waste.  Hannaford's also gives lots of food to the Williston Food Shelf and donates money to different places in Williston.

This afternoon we had an opportunity to create and design a boat using a variety of materials that would float.  We discovered that the heavier the boat the more likely it was to sink.  Boats made of lighter materials stayed afloat longer and we could power them using our breath.

Reusing in Kindergarten!

Today one of our friends decided to reuse her tin foil instead of throwing it away.  This is another great example of how we are responsible and kind at our school.

Creating Portraits

This morning we created our self portraits for winter.  We used the camera feature on the iPad to take our photo so we could make sure to include all of our features.
We enjoyed a great book called; "Not Norman".  The story focused on feelings and how feelings can influence our facial features. We created different facial expressions using Doodle Buddy.
