Each day we have been reading an important fact about waste. Recently we have been learning about the different types of pollution: air, noise, water, and soil.

Today we read a wonderful story about colors that we eat. The children made connections with Global Goal #3 because we all need to eat healthy colored food to learn.

We are working on our maps for phase 3 of the Geo-Inquiry Process. We are becoming cartographers and geographers!

Today a former student visited kindergarten. She shared a book she wrote about traveling the world. We learned a lot from Anna. She is publishing her book and then donating money to UNICEF.

Today we created visual maps of where trees grow at our school too!

Today we created the life cycle of a bird and we are looking forward to doing some bird watching tomorrow when Americorps visits kindergarten! We drew ourselves on our self portrait folders too.

We explored a new App called:'Word Cloud." We had fun creating word clouds about kindergarten.

Today we reflected and wrote pen pal notes to our friends in Ghana.
We read books that used geometric shapes to create animals in their habits. We tried this too.

A big thank you to DonorsChooose for our new classroom rug. Now we have the world under our feet!

Today we welcomed Mrs. Sarah Sussman to kindergarten too. She will be with every Monday and Friday.

This morning Robert from Hug A Planet visited kindergarten. He gave us each our own planet to hug as a reminder to help take care of the world. Each planet came with a virtue. Virtues are special things that people have and share with the world.

We read a wonderful story this afternoon. Be sure to ask your child what it was about.

Happy May Day!

Today we celebrate May 1st by creating special baskets and celebrating spring. Many countries in the world celebrate May Day for different reasons. We are recognizing today as a way to celebrate our growth in kindergarten and the season of spring.
