Today we celebrated bees. Today is World Bee Day! We created scientific drawings and thought about ways we can care for the world that support bees and their habitats.

Some of our ideas:

Plant Flowers

Grow different types of flowers

Create open spaces in nature. Grow lots of different plants for all the insects.

Today the children created bird glossaries using paper and colors. Each child chose 4 different birds to illustrate and created what they learned about each bird. The illustrations are detailed, colored, and have so much information. This was a wonderful way for the children to reflect on our new knowledge about birdlife.

We read a wonderful story about migration. We learned about how birds find their way to different habitats.

Today we explored the life of a Flamingo. As explorers we are thinking about the special features a flamingo has and are wondering if their features connect to the place where they live.

Today we explored the Seek app. Go here to get it for free. The app helps us identify the different species we are observing in nature.

Today we read some wonderful stories about eggs and the different types, colors, and sizes. Today we used our explorer tools and walked up a mountain and looked around the land to see where we think a bird habitat might be found.

We watched a Mystery Science about eggs too!

Perspective helps us think about things differently.
