Today we supported Global Goal 33 by being kind and helpful to each other and nature. We also helped keep ourselves healthy on our long hike using snowshoes today too.

Today we read a wonderful story about 2 friends who found ways to support and care for each other. They helped to make sure that they each had a full fridge.
The children created a refrigerator of what they would keep in their fridge. Many great ideas about what we can do to help make sure all children have a full fridge.

We started exploring CVC words and using our hands, tapping hands to sound out the sounds we hear.

We read a wonderful story about a soup kitchen. We explored how this might be helpful to others in a community. Today the children created a plate of what they ate for breakfast. Later we explored the many places we could go to get food for our plates. The children made lots of connections with what they ate for breakfast and where they might get their food.

Today the children created different marble tracks to explore the ideas of pushing and pulling.

The children made mathematical connections with the types of lines they created like zig-zag, straight, and curvy.

We are working on writing numbers in counting order from 0-21 and counting to 100 and beyond!

Today the children explored how to make a push and pull. They added water to the bottles and noticed an increase in speed. Later while outdoors, sledding the children connected what they learned this morning about how when sledding their body can pull them down the hill.

Today we explored a new nursery rhyme. 

As mathematicians, we connected the rhyme with counting order. We practiced counting forward, backward, and we worked on numeral writing and numeral ID. 


The children did a wonderful job using unifix cubes to measure all of the different webs.

Today we learned a couple more new rhymes and then created a spider traveling up a water spout.

We explored numbers 0-11 and 11-20. We are thinking about what number comes before and after a number 0-21.

We are recognizing acts of kindness and being kind to our friends.

Today we explored a push. We discovered that a force causes an object to move. A pull is a force that causes an object to move towards the person pulling the object.

Today we explored a nocturnal animal, the bat. We read about how bats like to move at night and eat insects.

We created our own scientific drawings of bats inspired by the book Bats, by, Gail Gibbons.

Today we read another wonderful story by Gail Gibbons. Her books are filled with great information and she also uses labels with her illustrations to help the reader understand information.

The owls that the children created are detailed, colorful, and informative.
It is wonderful to see such creativity.

This afternoon we will be exploring worms and their life in the dirt thanks to parent volunteers and the 4 Winds program.

We learned how to make tally marks today with popsicle sticks and subitize using moon rocks. Lots of great mathematical thinking.

Today Recycle Rhonda visited kindergarten. We were able to learn more about worms and how important and helpful they are to the world.

We took the Worm Wrangler Pledge too!  When we see a worm in need we will try our best to help.






We read a wonderful story about taking a breath when we need to pause. The story reminded us of all the ways we can reflect and take a breath when we get frustrated, tired, silly, or just need to breathe.

The children then had an inquiry challenge of making their own twig out of sticks and other materials. We will work on these today and tomorrow.

Today we explored the life cycle of an oak tree. We learned that all trees have a life cycle and need water, sun, soil, and a seed to grow.
While outside exploring today we noticed all of the seasonal changes. The air is colder and the leaves are turning colors everywhere.
