A Celebration of Writing!

This morning we invited all of our families in to see the wonderful ways we use writing to express what we understand.  We shared scientific writing, response writing about books we have read and even our persuasive and how to books!  We even had a breakfast buffet of healthy snacks.

This morning we had our first celebration of learning.  We shared our writing, our art work and we even showed some of the learning activities we are engaged in on our iPads.  It was lots of fun.  We were able to share our learning and meet new friends.  We svn had a breakfast buffet!

A Celebration Of Dr. Seuss! Today we had a special luncheon together.  We enjoyed listening to many of Dr. Seuss's books and we even had a chance to respond our ideas through writing and creating illustrations.  Today we come home with a special Dr. Seuss bag and a book of writing we created about some of Dr. Seuss's books!

Math Morning In Kindergarten!

It was a wonderful morning of math fun in Kindergarten.  The children enjoyed sharing all of the different math work stations we use to help us become confident math thinkers.  Thanks to Kathy Schaw, our math interventionist, Caitlin Bianchi, our math coordinator and Betty Poirot, our enrichment teacher for the yummy breakfast treats and being available to answer questions for everyone.

Celebration of Writing!

We had a wonderful turn out for our 1st celebration of writing this week.  The children did a wonderful job of reading their writing and talking about the special features of their "How To" and "All About books".  The children have also been using iPads to help navigate around on the school website.  We have learned how to locate our class blogs and class wiki's.  The children use either headphones or ear buds to listen to the many podcasts and videos that we have created in Kindergarten.
Digital Learning Day!

What fun we had on Wednesday.  We took part in the 1st Digital Learning Day.  The children were able to write emails to their families, create a blog post about how technology helps our learning and we even posted sticky notes on our class wallwisher.  We love our SMARTboard and all the other technology tools we use in Kindergarten.
 I hope you all saw your child's special poster and special card in recognition of this very important day.

A Celebration Of Reading Strategies!

On Friday we were invited to Mrs. Eaton's 2nd grade classroom to learn about the importance of;"Reading Long and Strong!"  Mrs. Eaton's awesome readers read to us using the reading strategies they have learned to help become an awesome readers.  We had fun, made new friends and learned a lot!

Our First Celebration of Learning!

Today is International Dot Day! We celebrated the day by reading the story, "The Dot by, Peter Reynolds. Later the children were able to create their own dot painting and enjoy some yummy dot treats. We all loved seeing the wonderful dot clothing and apparel that the children wore today. Thanks so much for supporting this celebration!
