Look Here to see some photos of our learning today. We explored the forest and learned about the parts of a tree. Trees have: a trunk, branches, some have leaves or pine needles, roots and bark.
We created our own tree on an artist canvas too!
We are collecting lids to be less wasteful. We will use the lids for artwork in Kindergarten. This action supports Global Goals #12 and #13.
We are supporting Global Goal #15 Life On Land. We are trying to build an awareness of why we need forests in the world so we can advocate for everyone to care for them as we do! We also learned about flip, floppy plastic. Did you know that you can collect it and bring it to Hannaford's and they recycle it?
This afternoon as we began to build our classroom community we explored some natural places as well outside our classroom. We were able to paint the world, plant some flower seeds and create our self-portraits. We also explored the camera on iPads!
As a collaborative learning community we are learning how to work with each other, take turns and be flexible when it helps others. Thanks so much to the parent volunteers who helped us this afternoon.

We are going to planting daffodils and tulips. Please send in any bulbs you wish to donate. We have a lot of space to fill!!
Today we started our day by exploring the materials in our classroom. Our play is important because we learn how to collaborate, rethink ideas and communicate with others. We are making new friends too!
We also talked about the world and how we are all Goal Keepers for the world. We created a list of wishes we want to explore this year. As we come up with more ideas, we will add to our list.
Our Smartboard is great because we get to interact with what we are learning about too!
