We started reading a wonderful story about the winter solstice.
We enjoyed snowshoeing this afternoon and made lots of mathematical connections with things we noticed in the snow!

Today we read a new Global Goal book, Yard Sale. We compared and contrasted the ideas to two other Global Goal books that support #1 No Poverty.

We used the design process to create boats and gingerbread people to travel down the river today. We read a wonderful story about a gingerbread boy too! We are reading different versions of the story and comparing and contrasting the big ideas.

Today we read a wonderful story about needs and wants. The book is also a Global Goal book that supports Global Goal #1 No Poverty.

We celebrated the Hour of Code this morning too!

Today we created fridges using the design learning process.
The children created their own fridge and labeled the foods that are found in their fridge.

Today we brainstormed where we go to get food and where others might go to get food. We created 3 of our favorite ideas and then labeled them as writers.

This afternoon we enjoyed snowshoeing on the nature trail. We even made it to Allen Brook!
Everyone is becoming quite confident in their ability to navigate on snowshoes too!

This afternoon we enjoyed snowshoeing up the mountain. The children noticed many shapes in nature like; spheres, cylinders, squares, and even a rhombus!
