Today the children compared and contrasted these 2 stories. We created lists of needs and wants and how they are different.

Mrs. Scott came to kindergarten today to help us explore PebbleGo. This is a wonderful way to help us learn about the different animals that live in the world and there habitats.

We created writing about why we need food shelves in communities with illustrations highlighting our ideas.

We had fun snowshoeing this afternoon too!

Today Mrs. Clapton visited kindergarten. She showed us how to use Sora. This is available to all children. It is a wonderful tool to use to listen to and read along with real books. Your child can have up to 3 books at a time on their shelf.

We are beginning to create maps too! As cartographers we are exploring the idea of how maps are another way of telling a story.

Today we created our favorite character from Maddi's Fridge. Later we began thinking about why we choose either Sofia or Maddi. As a class we came up with a list of ways we can help others have a full fridge.
We read another wonderful story about Zero Hunger too! In the story the characters were poor and then had some good fortune. Afterwards they decided to share their good fortune with others.

December 1st

Today we read to more wonderful Global Goal stories about hunger. The children had an opportunity to respond to the stories through writing, speaking, and create a favorite character. Through listening and thinking about what it is like for others we have an opportunity to experience empathy, think about what it must be like for others in different parts of the world and where they go to get their food.
