Morning Meeting
Morning meeting is a lot of fun in Kindergarten! We greet each other everyday and we do a fun activity too! The leader of the day is in charge of reading our morning message and then helps us make special noticings about the text!

The Williston Food Shelf
It was a cold walk, but it was so nice to be outside in the fresh air!
A Message From The Food Shelf:
It was my pleasure to meet with you, your class, and chaperoning parents at the Williston Food Shelf earlier today. We are extremely grateful for your donations of food and money, especially at this holiday time of year when so many of our neighbors continue to be in need of some extra help. Your students seemed genuinely interested in the Food Shelf and I was impressed with their questions and comments. Please let them know once again that they are truly making a difference in the lives of others when they become involved in the Food Shelf. You all would be most welcome to visit again in the spring. Thank you again for your contributions.
Today we made a difference for our community. We visited the food shelf and donated food and one of the students gave money. We are experiencing what it feels like to make others feel happy and to help out others. Our buckets were full all day today! What are you doing to fill others buckets?

Making Mathematical Connections During Morning Meeting!
This morning Ms. Jessica did a great job with our morning meeting! We created a pumpkin using different attributes on the SMART board and we created tallies! We use tallies to keep track of "how many" we have.
Our SMARTboard is a great interactive tool. It helps us develop a deeper understanding of the many concepts we are exploring in Kindergarten.

New Morning Meeting Activity!
This morning during our morning meeting Ms. Caitlin asked us to identify letters and sounds that we have been exploring. Then we had to find sight words we are learning too in our morning message. Ms. Caitlin created a SMART notebook page where we had to identify pictures that had a specific first sound. It was really fun!

Thank You Donors Choose!
Mo Willems is a great author because he uses lots of expression!
We like all of the characters in Mo Willems books too!
We are so excited and happy in Kindergarten! Thanks to the generosity of people on DonorsChoose we now have brand new Mo Willems books!
During our reader's workshop time we sit knee to knee or side to side when we read books!

Science Journals In Kindergarten!
We use many tools during our science time. We are learning about what tools help us develop a better understanding of what we observe!
We have brand new science journals in Kindergarten! We use our journals to share what we are exploring in our natural world. In the photographs a few of our scientists are making observations about milkweed!

Taking A Calming Breath!
This afternoon Mrs. Tatlock visited Kindergarten and we read a wonderful story and learned "how to" take a calming breath. A calming breath can help us feel good and refocus!
