Being Flexible!
Today we explored a wonderful word, FLEXIBLE. When we are flexible we are able to collaborate, learn from others and change our thinking. We also are able to learn about another perspective and someone's idea. We are working on this in Kindergarten! We used a straw to help show what happens when we are flexible. Kindergarten is so much fun!

Collaboration, Collaborating, We Collaborate!
This afternoon we created and designed activities that we were interested in. Through our choices we discovered other people wanted to connect and work alongside us! This is collaboration! We discovered that when we are collaborating we are:
1. Taking Turns
2. Sharing
3. Solving Problems
4. Helping Each other
5. Have Conversations
6. We learn new things
7. We value other ideas.
8. It is Fun!

Really Worms!
Digital slideshow generated with Smilebox |
We learned that they have 5 hearts, a head, tail and that they really like dark, wet and damp places. They especially like to eat fruit and vegetables!
Guess where some of our compost waste will be going? We learned how to make a bed for worms too! We will be taking turns caring for the worms in all of the Kindergarten classrooms.

Logging On/Logging Off
We visited our technology lab in our school to learn about the parts of a computer, their job and then "how to" log on and log off. We used our special log in cards to help us.
We learned that:
1. When you log in it is like you are talking/telling the computer who you are. When you log off you say good-bye. This way the computer knows you have left.
2. We use the computers in a safe, kind and responsible way.
3. We ask friends nearby to help us if we are stuck.
4. Mrs. Scott helps us when we have a question.

Being Safe, Kind and Responsible Using Technology!
Our learning sessions with Mrs. Birdsall have ended, but we continue to practice and explore digital tools and platforms in a safe, kind and responsible way. One of our activities with Mrs. Birdsall was we had to give an example of how we use a digital tool and/or platform in a safe way. Here are some of our ideas.

A Visit From The Dorothy Alling Library!
This afternoon Mrs. Jill visited us in Kindergarten! She showed us some new apple books and read us a story! The town library is a wonderful place to visit! She delivered our new library cards too! Reading is so much fun! We also made a connection with one of the stories! We just created scientific drawings of apples too just like the book!

Remembering to 'Look up!"
Mrs. Birdsall visited Kindergarten and read us a wonderful story called;"Hello, hello". The story had an important message for us. Digital tools are wonderful and can offer a lot of opportunities for learning, but it is important to have balance and to "look up" from your screen and see who and what is around you!
