Learning From Home:Day 9

Today we are exploring Global Goal 15, Life On Land.
1. As an explorer stand in 1 place and look far off in one direction. Find a place to observe. How many steps did it take to get there? What do you notice?
2. As a cartographer draw a map of you from where you started and where you ended up.
3. As a scientist draw and label your map. Share!

Learning From Home: Day 8

Exploring the land.

This is what I observed...

Use your skill of observation and enjoy being curious!
Create a drawing of the geography and anything else you see. I used a marker and a piece of cardboard to create my drawing.

Today while you are outside, look around at the land and the geography of where you are. Use your skill of observation to help you think about these ideas:
1. Is the land flat? Do you see a hill?
2. Why are some trees grouped together?
3. Is the sun shining everywhere? Why or why not?
4. When you walk up an incline or a small hill is it easier to walk up or harder?
5. Do you notice any trees? What kind are they? Deciduous? Coniferous?
6. How can you help take care of what you are seeing?
Think about how these experiences support Global Goals.

Learning From Home: Day 7

Today while I was outside I noticed many things in nature that had patterns.

Today I found many things for my nature bag. I created a pattern with some of the things I found. Can you see the patterns in the photos? Share what you notice with someone at home.

Using your skill of observation...
See if you can find print in your house, outside, on signs, in nature, or anywhere! Print can be words, numbers, or symbols!

Learning From Home:Day 5

Today while I was outside I was observing all the different surfaces that I walk on. I was thinking about the following...
Why do we have so many surfaces?
How are the surfaces made? Where do they come from?
I wonder why some surfaces have patterns...
What are you noticing when you go outside? What is under your feet?

Learning From Home: Day 4

Today on my walk I found the letter V that was made by 2 birch trees in our yard. As we walked up the hill I noticed a sign and discovered some words that we have been working on in kindergarten. Remember how we find sight words in our morning message? Maybe you can find words you know in the signs you see. Please share whatever you find.

On Seesaw you can share what the weather is like where you live.

Learning From Home: Day 3

Hello Everyone!
Today on my walk with my family we noticed many things. I wanted to share some of them with you.
In one of the photos look closely and see if you notice something that does not belong there. We did not see a lot of waste, but this made me think about what impact this trash might have on living things.

Later I stopped to take a video of Lake Champlain. Can you hear the wind? I was thinking about ways the wind can impact land and water. What are you thinking? Is it windy where you live?

Later on the road, I found this!  A stick that looks like the letter Y. Maybe when you are outdoors you can look for things in nature that are shaped like letters and numbers. Please let me know what you find.
