Today we celebrated all of our learning connected to the Global Goals. Thanks so much to those of you who donated food and attended our celebration.

Today we used our Smartboard to help us find and locate the different polar animals that live at the North Pole and the South Pole.


We are also doing a Seesaw activity about polar animals too!

Today we read another story by Mo Willems.

We Skyped with a real scientist in Texas to about what plants live under the water.
We created a Chatterpix about our penguins too. This App is a great way for us to practice our oral reading through the eyes of what we are writing about.

We read a wonderful story published by National Geographic today.  Later we created detailed illustrations of a place we have been and enjoy spending time.

We wrote about what we know about penguins too. We are becoming independent writers!

We focused on what the print and punctuation marks tell us and we created drawings with details showing facial expressions of the characters.

Today we worked on a maze taking us through the Weddell Sea. 

We are exploring numbers that are less, more, and equal to each other. Our Smartboard is a great way for us to capture and make numbers to make true statements using; <, >, and =.

This afternoon we counted all the different collections of things that the children brought in. We created groups of 1, 2, 5, and 10!

We read a wonderful story about the world, created by National Geographic.
Later we created an illustration of what we really enjoy doing. We are working on creating details in our illustrations to help convey the meaning of what we create.

We read many Mo Willems stories today. One of our favorites is ..

In the story Gerald thinks that Piggie is making him sneeze! We are paying attention to the punctuation while we read and as writers we are exploring using punctuation in our writing.

Exploring Mo Willems

Today we started exploring 2 of Mo Willems characters from his books; Piggie and Gerald. In his books we are learning how to read with expression. He also uses speech bubbles and thinking bubbles so we can make predictions about what the characters are thinking.

Today we read a story about where we wish we could travel too. Our ideas were inspired by the story: Everywhere, Wonder.

We fished our sea creatures. They are in kindergarten in small schools like real fish.
