Creating Science Journals: Exploration Is Important!

Today a couple of my students shared their own science journals that they created during their exploration time.  Exploration time is play. It is a time when students have an opportunity to explore and create ideas they are interested in and learning about. So proud of these two scientists!

This morning we had Laurie Gunn visit Kindergarten!  She volunteers for COTS! We learned a lot about how people become homeless and need to stay in a shelter.  We also learned that we can support COTS by walking in May, in Burlington to raise money for all the people that need to stay in a shelter.  We learned a lot! We also talked a lot about the many things that we re grateful for too.  We have a special tree in our school where we can share what we are grateful for.

This morning we learned "how to" make a circuit! A circuit travels in a circle.  You need insulating and conducting dough to make it work.  You also need a battery pack too!  We had fun creating caterpillars that lit up!  Thanks so much to Ms. Patti for teaching us about squishy circuits!
